Sometimes you head out for the view. Other times you head out for the food. And sometimes you get lucky and have both in the same place! Well here are three Cincinnati restaurants that fit the bill.
In fact, all are vegetarian-friendly, though you may want to forgo that option for just one meal so you can enjoy all they have to offer.
Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse
A seat near the windows at Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse offers an awesome view of the Ohio River and Northern Kentucky. The food is equally awesome with its renowned barbecue sauce and great chili at the top of the bill.
There is an upstairs sports lounge and outside dining weather permitting. In addition to your private dining experience, there are rooms available for 8 to 250 people should you want to host a bigger occasion.
You’ll find Via Vite flagrantly Italian with views of Fountain Square. This is an upscale dining experience that also offers views of the open kitchen should you turn your gaze inward.
There is a wonderful wine selection along with engaging menu items like Amish chicken and meatballs (kind of Italian), risotto butternut squash (definitely Italian) and homemade lasagna (over-the-top Italian)!
City View Tavern
City View Tavern is essentially a local dive with an area reputation. The front of the restaurant has city views with the back deck offering views of the west slope of Mt. Adams on which the restaurant is perched.
They serve lunch and dinner with a decidedly casual flair. You go to the bar to place your order, they bring it to your table. Selections include beef Bar-B-Q and the Big Ted Deluxe voted “best cheeseburger in paradise” by Cincinnati Magazine.
It’s admittedly a tiny jaunt to get to these places but well worth the trip. And when you get back home, which we hope will be to the Drexel at Oakley, you can enjoy the peace and quiet it has to offer along with friendly service and a pool and workout room. Contact us for more information!
